The purpose of this school is to guide the enthusiastic but still inexperienced scientist, young or senior,
through the process of the structure solution from powder diffraction data, starting with the tips and tricks of sample preparation and optimized
data collection strategies through those of determining a plausible structural model and of refining it. The powder school is not suitable for students specifically interested in structural solution from single crystal data. A hands-on school on single crystal X-ray crystallography is being organized in June 2008 at the nearby University of Zürich. |
